Business Licenses

All persons carrying on business within the District of Mackenzie require a valid and subsisting business license issued from the Municipality’s Licensing Officer.

The process for obtaining a business license is very simple and pain-free. The applicant simply comes into the Municipal Office and speaks with the Licensing Officer regarding your proposed business. The Licensing Officer will walk you through the necessary forms to ensure the information being supplied is relevant.

Your business will then be classified and the appropriate fee will be assigned.   Business Licenses are valid from January 1st to December 31st of each year.

A Business License may be obtained at any time throughout the calendar year and the fee will be adjusted accordingly.  Any new proponents applying for a business license after June 30th will be assessed an amount that is 50% of the annual fee.

We have partnered with the OneStop Business Registry and offer our business licence for application through the OneStop Business Registration online service.

This means that you can apply for our business licence at the same time as you are choosing to complete other business registrations with federal or provincial public sector agencies, in one place, at one time.

The OneStop Business Registry is a public sector partnership offering integrated Business Registration, Business Address Change and Liquor Licensing services based on the Business Number.
